Introducing Our New Children’s Book: What Happens to Grandma’s Stuff?

Attorney discussing probate process with young family, child holding What Happens to Grandma’s Stuff? children’s book

We’re excited to announce the release of our very first children’s book, What Happens to Grandma’s Stuff? A Kids Guide to Grown-Up Promises. This beautifully illustrated story was created to help children (ages 3 to 6) gently understand what happens when someone they love passes away.

The book follows Ellie, a curious little girl, her loyal dog Gus, a colorful peacock named Elroy, and their clever cat Jiji. Together, they explore the mysteries of what grown-ups do when someone is no longer here and there are special things left behind.

Probate Bonds for Kids Book InfoWritten in simple language that children can relate to, the book introduces real-life ideas like wills, guardianship, and something called probate court. It turns complex topics into a story of love, responsibility, and the promises adults make to care for others.

This project was inspired by real questions families face during hard times. We wanted to create a tool that could help parents, caregivers, and professionals talk to kids about loss, legacy, and the process of settling someone’s affairs.

The book is now available in paperback, with custom versions available for attorneys, courts, and community groups who want to gift copies to clients or families.

Best of all, proceeds (around $15 per book) go to support our Building Bonds™ Scholarship, a program we created to give back to future professionals making a difference in elder care, elder law, caregiving, and community support.

If you’re a parent, attorney, or court representative interested in learning more, we invite you to reach out. This book is a heartfelt and helpful way to bridge the gap between legal responsibility and emotional care.

Stay tuned as we continue sharing more resources to support families and those navigating the probate system.
